The Dry Season special game worlds

Diet As always, the first signs came from the merchants. Their trade stands, once full with crops, had less and less of it on display. Until one day, the crop stands were completely empty. Yet the signs were ignored. When the first leaves turned gray, many hoped it would be just a short drought. But the crop failure hit hard. The less crops grew, the greater became the people’s hunger, and with it, their desperation. Thousands left in search of a better, more bountiful place. The villages, just like the crop fields, became barren deserts. Only the smartest and toughest villagers remained, seeking out new ways to grow food and survive in this unforgiving wasteland. Welcome to the Dry Season of Travian Kingdoms.

A game world for champions

The new theme is truly exceptional and crop (or the lack of it) plays a major role. As you might have figured out, the NPC traders no longer trade crop. Being a key asset for any aspiring king or governor, the traders would usually trade any type of resource for another in exchange for a little Gold. But now that it has become harder to grow crops, they have no food to spare. Life is not just harder for them, however. Crop fields, grain mills and bakeries cost 50% more to build than on normal game worlds. It’s going to be very hard to feed armies through buildings alone.

No shortage of changes

Working out new ways to produce food is tough. Old and quicker methods had to be discarded. The instant completion feature that usually works for all buildings but the palace, residence, treasury and world wonder, is now also disabled for crop fields, grain mills and bakeries. With everyone now desperate for rare crops, the cranny is no longer able to hide it from raids. There is one upside: Your merchants are working harder than ever, driven by the will to survive, and are able to carry 50% more resources.
